Constructing a simple 15mm house

Part I: Walls

Materials:
3-5mm foam board
PVA white glue (Elmer's)
Thin cardboard (tissue box)
Tools:
Hobby Knife (X-acto)
Scissors
Ruler

Dimensions

Length: ~ 68mm
(Width+5+5 width overlap)
Width: 57mm
Long walls: 38mm high
Roof peak walls: 57mm high

Windows: 6mm x 6mm
9mm from floor

Doors: 10mm x 20mm

Using foamboard, rough cut all the pieces. Use a sharp blade to cut. If not, the foam within the boards will clump together and create a jagged cut. It is best to lightly score through the top board, then come back over with a deeper cut until complete. This will result in a cleaner cut. You can see from the picture I used dull blade. I switched to sharper one before I cut the windows.

For the roof angle, I marked the center of the peak and the side wall height (37mm) and drew a line from the peak to the side wall mark, then cut.

Next, measure and cut out any openings, like doors and window.

Now, glue all the pieces together. I glued one end to a long wall, then the other long wall, then square it up with the other end.

Using the thin cardboard, cut a piece the rough size of the house to base it on. I used a tissue box.

You can make the base larger to add extra scenery around the house. I've added a bit to the side for a garden and wall.

I checked the scale using my 15mm FOW minis and it was perfect!
